ZINC ROOFING

What is zinc?

Zinc is a non-toxic and plentiful metal, making one of the most sustainable building materials for your roof or facade. Zinc will patina over time and form its own protective layer that will never deplete. Over the years, thanks to it’s natural oxidation, zinc will only become more robust and durable.

What are the benefits?

Malleable: Allowing architects free creative reign with minimized limitations. Zinc can be bent and pressed to form shapes and details which could not be formed with alternative materials.

Low Maintenance: The durability of your building envelope will only improve over time due to the naturally-occurring patina. This will build up over any scratches or imperfections, meaning little or often zero maintenance.

Sound-proofing: The acoustic properties of the metal makes it a superb option for mitigating airborne noises such as planes or road traffic. It also provides improved acoustic performance versus things like rain and birds, as opposed to alternative metals.

Sustainability: Zinc used in the building industry is 100% recyclable, and over 95% of rolled zinc in Europe is recycled at the end of its life cycle. Less energy is used to produce zinc than other metals, and for further sustainability, recycled zinc can be used and still perform.
