What are the benefits of Cladding?
Cladding is the application of one material typically wood or metal over another to provide a skin or layer.
Added protection - Buildings that are cladded are better protected from rain, humidity, mould and strong winds. Cladded surfaces are also more resistant to cracks caused by temperature or climate change, water absorption and sunlight compared to non clad structures.
Low maintenance - Another advantage of using cladding is that it provides a low maintenance building exterior. Compared to a painted surface, cladding requires very little cleaning or repairing.
Aesthetic purposes - There is also an aesthetic aspect to consider. Well chosen cladding can drastically change the overall appearance of a building, transforming its appeal and significantly raising its market value.
